Tim has been playing guitar and harmonica since his early teens, initially performing as a solo act, prior to being a founding member of “The Umbrella Festival”.  Subsequently Tim returned to solo performances for a number of years before partnering with fellow musician, Tom Rose, to form the duo “Burns and Rose”, later named “Burns and Rose Revue”. He has played in concert halls, coffee houses, universities and colleges, bars, county fairs and private functions.   He has entertained at the Upper Canada Folk Festival Song Writwrs Circle pop-up concert, Live! On Elgin, Waterfront Live, Ladefest, Backdrop,  Fall Fest, Perth Rib Fest, Aruma Artisans Market, Musicfest Brewfest, Music Jam Session Spectacular, Ottawa Music Summerfest and Music on The Mississippi to name but a few venues.  Tim has performed in six of Canada’s provinces as well as in Ireland, and was the subject of a radio show at KBND Bend, Oregon, USA.

In July 2023, Tim was awarded first place in the "Explosion of the Arts" (time-designated) song writing contest for his song, "Spencer's Mill".

Tim’s primary focus is folk music.  His performances include a balance of original compositions and cover tunes.  A blend of soft rock, blues and country can also be heard throughout his performances.
